normal is different here

Today Lila was pretending that she was pregnant, giving birth and breastfeeding babies over and over again. She gave birth to a couple baby dolls and a winnie the pooh repeatedly today. She even had one set of twins and one set of triplets! She very dramatically called me each time she went into labor and then grunted saying "this is hard work" as she pushed each "baby" out of her shirt. At one point I asked her where she was having her baby, at home or at a birthing center. Her response? "Where are women supposed to have their babies?" I answered "At home?" (hoping this was the right answer) "Yes! Of course!" as if it were as plain as the nose on her face. Nice.

Then, after the birth of her twins, she promptly yanked up her shirt and nursed both babies (pooh bear and a plush baby) at once. She only had one problem with all her child-birthing experiences today. After giving birth to triplets (pooh & two baby dolls) she ran into the kitchen where I was and frantically said "Mom! How do I nurse all three babies!?" We talked about rotation of nurslings very briefly and satisfied with the answer she went off to do so.

Perfect she's all set! Now only if she'll remember all this in twenty to thirty years!
