My Garden... again!

I'm really excited about my garden this year. Last year's garden came out a million times better than I could have imagined. This year I'm planting some of the same veggies as last year and am going to try some new ones as well. The girls and I planted some pea, carrot, lettuce and beet seeds outside yesterday and some sweet peppers and tomato seeds inside today. I'd like to build a second box so I can fit these veggies plus maybe some potatoes and onions too. I also have some cucumber seeds that I'll plant a little closer to May.

I found this great little aloe plant at Sunflower market today for $3.99! Now let's see if I can keep it alive!
Tomatoes and peppers in my 100% recycled, homemade "peatmoss" cups aka egg cartons with "greenhouses" or plastic spinach containers from Costo + holes cut in them!

Stay tuned for growth!

It's Soccer Season

It was beautiful out for Kurtis' second game of the season. His team "Team" won 4-1. Kurtis is in the black uniform, #13.

My keeper
The girls and I enjoyed the sunshine!

I love the view from the soccer field!

Lila had to work up the courage to talk to a little boy sitting near us, but once she did they played the rest of the game.

picking "flowers" which I am now growing in my kitchen!

playing soccer

and as if on cue, Clarissa always seems to try to take her clothes off right before it's time to leave!

Hopefully the weather man will at least not give us snow this coming Saturday, but I won't hold my breath...

Honors Band

Kurtis had his school Spring concert on Wednesday and as always he did a great job! An old friend, Doug, came to see Kurtis and was so amazed at how much he had changed since their last meeting a couple years ago. The girls did amazingly well considering the concert started at 7pm, which is almost bed time for both of them. His next concert is will be that end of the year concert on Thursday, May 27th at 7 pm if anyone is interested in attending let me know!

Kurtis recently was chosen for Honors Band at school. This consists of the best students from each instrument category in the school. He will get to play along with other Honors students from other schools when they play together. What talent!

Sewing projects

On Sunday morning Lila and I decided to make a pink bunny from some fabric I had sitting around. Then Kurtis wanted in on the action and started sewing an alien. Kurtis is actually taking sewing at school, so it's fun to see him interested in something that I enjoy! Unfortunately Kurtis' project didn't turn out so well, but we decided we'd try again later. Lila's bunny turned out super cute though and she drew the face on herself!

My sweet girls

Lila got two new pairs of shoes while grandpa was here. She picked out new pink "sparks" (sparkly shoes) of course, and these super cute plaid shoes that I'm quite jealous of!

I think Lila looks just like my aunt Zenita in this picture! Makes sense, as Lila looks like me and I've always looked a lot like Z!

Pigtails are the cutest!
