Gobble gobble gobble

Thanksgiving was great this year. My mother and father in law, Josie and Paul, came out to visit. They arrived on Tuesday afternoon. Kurtis had planned to visit his family in Illinois for Thanksgiving this year, so he only go to spend a couple days with the grandparents, but at least they got to see each other before he left at the crack of dawn on Thursday. We had a very nice time baking lots of pies and cooking turkey with all the fixins! We are still eating way too much pie every day!

Holiday onions and pumpkin pie! Y U M!
This picture was taken just to prove I was there. My kitchen window sure is dirty...

Math homework even on a holiday *sigh* What a good boy!
Dodo checks the pies!
At the last minute Lila declared she wanted apple pie for thanksgiving and being the wonderful mother I am, I mean being that we had a fridge full of apples I said WHY NOT!?
Dodo preparing the broccoli that we forgot to cook. Oh well, the onions and celery in the stuffing count as vegetables, right?

Bed time

Dinner had, bath taken, teeth brushed, pj's on we head for story time. Last night the girls laid in Lila's bed and read. Well, Lila tried to look at a book while Clarissa thrashed around. Then Lila decided she was going to sleep with a little lamb she has that makes noise. She held it up and said "Mom, this is too loud. I can't sleep with it." and puts it on her desk. I don't know why, but I thought it was cute. Now here is the tale in photo form...

Sweet dreams Lila!

A week of fun & friends

This week was busy, but in a fun and not stressful sort of way. We got together with lots of friends and had good times. Monday we met up with Ginger and her kids, energetic Cache and sweet baby True at Dino Land in at the mall for a bit of running around. It is the perfect place for kids to get their energy out while moms chat.

Here is Clarissa climbing into one of the caves.

More dinosaur action while sister looks on.

On Wednesday after pre-school Timbra came over with her lovely girls Alani and Airi. The girls played with window markers that I recently discovered. They were Kurtis' back before Lila was born and I was a little surprised they still work!

Here Airi is enjoying eating the fuzz from Clarissa's blanket.
Clarissa has a head of hair that many full grown women could envy!
Lila and Alani enjoy drawing on the living room window.
Alani in her super cute sweater!
Clarissa and her hair. Maybe I should name it?

On Thursday we went for the triple (quadruple if you count moms) play date at Julia, Alec, Jasmine and Kai's house. It's great because each of our kids has a playmate when we hang out! Plus it's just fun! Jasmine and Lila had a wedding and of course needed make up for the occasion.

Here is Lila in her wedding make up.

Today my friend Lisa that I know from my Snowbird days came over to play with her kids Alex and Makayla. They enjoyed playing outside in the cold and indoors with some dolls while Lisa and I played catch up and enjoyed some hot tea.

Lila and Makayla get along famously!

After Lisa and her gang left today we headed to Little Gym and then home for nap time. After we picked up Kurtis and friend, Jacob, from school we joined Rachel and her girls, Malaina and Maren as well as Ginger and hers again at the aquarium.

Winter is here, even though it's still fall...

Because Clarissa was so little last year she really didn't get to play in the snow. Today was the first time she really got to get bundled and go out in the snow to play. Lila loves the snow, as always and can't wait to get out there when she sees that white fluff coming down! The girls had a great time throwing snow at each other, playing in the sled and eating snow. Lila did a good job of teaching little sis what it's all about!
